Hey, lovely readers.
This isn’t a post I ever thought I would be making. I hoped to be rushing the Halloween chapter right about now, but early this past week, on the evening of October 24th, my mother unexpectedly passed away. If you go to the acknowledgments page on this blog, you’ll find my mom right at the top. She was my biggest supporter, my number one fan, the reason I am the person that I am, and, as you can imagine, I am heartbroken.
This is obviously a very difficult time for me, for my siblings, and it will take time to find some semblance of normalcy again. I don’t know if two months will even scratch the surface of the time it’ll take to process all of this, but it’s a start. We’re going to get through the holidays and go from there. I can assure you all I’m not abandoning this serial, this series, that’s completely out of the question. But Shadows Rise in particular is an extremely difficult story to immerse myself into in the aftermath of such a recent devastating loss.
I do need to keep busy though. So don’t be surprised if you see some Authors Notes posts pop up here and there or if I start moving things around in the blog while we’re away. You know that thing when someone is going through it and they just decide to rearrange their furniture? That might be me with some of our platforms in the upcoming months. Don’t be too alarmed if it happens.
It’s been a very inconsistent year for me even without this happening, and if you’ve been here through all of that, from the bottom of my heart, I appreciate you. I’ll see you on the other side of all this, hopefully in January.
